If, like us, the classic Scandinavian style has stolen your heart, prepare to fall in love. Located in northern Norway, Susanne Minde has taken the minimalist style we all love and combined it with pops of colour and plenty of texture to create a truly stunning space.
In typical Nordic style, Susanne’s home features predominantly cool tones such as blues and greys. Cool tones not only give the decor a more modern feel, they also add a sense of calm.
Whilst the majority of Susanne’s living room remains fairly neutral in white or grey, the bold duck-egg blue wall and navy sofa create a statement that can’t be ignored.
Susanne’s home is a beautiful example of how cool and warm tones can work together. When executed well, they can balance each other to create a stylish, yet cosy home.
In this case, Susanne has used pops of warmth such as pink, red and orange to liven up her cool interior. By only using small accents, she ensures that the warmth doesn’t overpower the cool, maintaining her breezy, calming interior.
In some areas of the home, such as the bathroom, Susanne has used pastel shades of pink to bring a gentle warmth to an otherwise entirely neutral colour scheme. Even the storage uses light wood to ensure it isn’t overpowering.
The pale shades give the bathroom a fresh, clean feel with the warmth of the pink balancing the cool of the grey tiles nicely.
